GREAT NEWS! Suffolk County Democrats are off to GREAT start this election year by electing Marc Alessi to the 1st Assembly District in a stunning Special Election victory on September 13, 2005. What made this victory so sweet was that we defeated a well known sitting Republican elected official in a district where Republicans outnumber Democrats 2 to 1. This proves that Suffolk Democrats fields quality candidates that best represent the people of Suffolk County.

The Special Election victory is just the beginning of more great victories to come for Suffolk Democrats in November. Our District Attorney will be re-elected and we have a great opportunity to elect a new Sheriff in this County. With the help of our County Executive, Steve Levy, there is strong possibility Democratic can take over the Suffolk County Legislature to help implement Steve Levy's agenda for a better Suffolk County. On a local level, Democrats have a golden opportunity to restore Respect and Integrity to the Town of Brookhaven by electing a new Supervisor and a Democratic majority to the Town Board. We also need to re-elect our Democratic Town so they can continue providing a better quality of life to its residents.
